Ford and Gray restored to Scotland team to face Australia
“I think it’s still growing, we’ve still got a fair bit to improve on and I think we can take it to another level for sure”, Foley said of their partnership. “That’s something we want to build on”.

“We’re aware of the size of this game and what it means to us and the people of Scotland”.
“The drive and the emotion is there for us”.
“They’ve normally gone behind to early scores and if you do that against this Australia side it’ll be incredibly tough to get back into the game”.
“We’ve got to put that disappointment behind us and even use it as extra motivation”.
Having prepared himself to watch the World Cup from his living room after failing to secure a slot in Cotter’s first-pick 31-man squad, Cowan is now tasked with the crucial job of giving Scotland momentum at the breakdown.
The former Leinster head coach knows many of Scotland’s players well from his five years at the Irish Pro 12 club and he is also familiar with Australia-born former Scotland star Nathan Hines, who is now a skills coach under Cotter.
The 23-year-old was due to line up for his side in their Guinness PRO12 clash with Ulster but has instead been given permission to travel to London and join up with Cotter’s side ahead of the quarter-final clash with Australia at Twickenham.
So far the Wallabies have thrived in this aspect, largely thanks to the efforts of double openside duo Michael Hooper and David Pocock.
In a statement, the governing body said: “Ross Ford and Jonny Gray (Scotland) are free to resume playing with immediate effect after successfully appealing against their three-week suspension for acts of foul play contrary to Law 10.4(j) (dangerous tackles)”.
“They are a team which I feel is most risky at the end of the game”.
“You have to forget about games in the past, it is about what happens on the day between the two teams for 80 minutes”, he said.
“We’ve been pushing each other and we help each other out from week to week too, on how we’re going to run the lineout and things like that”, the 26-year-old said.
