Ford Bronco: No Room In New SUV Plans

Ford plans to introduce seven new or updated models in Europe during 2016, including the new Kuga and Edge SUVs, the Focus RS performance auto, new powertrains for Transit Custom and Transit 2-ton, and a freshened Ranger pickup. Moreover during the launch of the new generation Ford Endeavour in India, the company had mentioned that it is targeting to achieve 25% market share in the global SUV market by 2020.

The Ford Motor Company is an American automaker conglomerate, which was founded by Henry Ford more than a hundred years ago and it is the 7th largest auto company in the world, according to a 2015 report. But it could also be the other way around as Ford claims that the SUVs will be part of new segments in which the company now doesn’t have any models to offer.

He added: “It’s a demographic double whammy and it all points to one thing – more SUVs for the foreseeable future”. We’re not really sure if there will be exactly four new vehicles that see the light of day before the turn of the decade because the term “nameplate” might hide a subtle move – one new model could be sold in two regions with two different monikers (take the example of the compact Kuga and Escape duet).

But Ford said improved fuel efficiency in SUVs should keep buyers gravitating toward the vehicles even if gas prices rise.

LaNeve cited recent Ford research that shows once millennials even begin thinking about starting a family, their interest in shopping for SUVs goes up significantly.

Driven by strong demand across its vehicle range – including SUVs, commercial vehicle and performance cars – Ford’s total vehicle sales and market share in Europe continued to grow in January.

Since SUVs are easier to handle and convenient.
