In 1999, the company introduced the special-edition 2000 Harley-Davidson F-150. Ford has seen its pickup market share shrink this year in part due to limited supply caused by its switch from a steel to aluminum body, but increased sales of its premium models have helped push its average sale prices above $44,000.

On the outside, there is the expected Limited badging, plus body-color bumper accents, satin chrome grille and tailgate trim, and 22-inch wheels. The exterior treatment is finished with satin-chrome door handles and a chrome exhaust tip. Colors available for the 2016 Limited include Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat.

Standard equipment on the F-150 Limited include BLIS with cross-traffic alert, chrome front tow hooks on the 4×4 models, panoramic vista roof, power-deployable running boards, quad-beam LED headlights, remote start and tailgate release, as well as an integrated trailer brake controller. A technology package includes a lane-keeping system, 360-degree camera system and dynamic trailer hitch assist.

The front seat on the Limited features heated and cooled black and Mojave leather seats accented with Limited badging, and they feature 10-way adjustment and multi-contour massaging, because seriously, who doesn’t need a massage while driving? This feature allows drivers of any skill level the ability to back-up a trailer easily by turning a knob right or left to indicate direction while the truck controls the turning and speed.

Technology upgrades for the 2016 F-150 include Ford’s new Sync 3, with captive touch screen, AppLink and easy-to-understand interface.

F-150 Limited also includes a Sony 10-speaker sound system with HD Radio, subwoofer and single CD player paired with a five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link to complete the package. Its starting price is about $10,000 more than that of the Chevrolet Silverado High Country, $8,000 more than a Ram 1500 Limited and the same as a BMW X6.

Powering the 2016 F-150 Limited is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which is rated to produce 365 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque.

Low gasoline prices along with better fuel economy have boosted demand for feature-laden duty trucks and large SUVs which are helping the bottom lines for the three Detroit automakers. Only use SYNC/other devices, even with voice commands, when it is safe to do so. Message and data rates may apply.
