Ford offering discount on F-150s

She also reports that although some loyalists worry the new body “might be tinny and not as robust as the traditional steel ones”, Ford insists it is “military grade”.

There’s little doubt the F-150 is taking the brunt of the sales hit for Ford lately, as it completely rebuilt two huge F-150 plants to accommodate the new construction and manufacturing processes needed for the first fully aluminized half-ton pickup truck.

But Ford Motor Co., is hoping to reverse the trend by offering discounts of more than $10,000 on the new aluminum-bodied edition.

Ford has faced an uphill marketing battle to reassure customers of the strength of the truck’s aluminum body, but now claims the only issue it’s having is in keeping up with demand. The automakers price the trucks with incentives in mind, and they still generate plenty of profits from the vehicles. Every new pickup, no matter how popular, has some level of incentive attached with some of its models. The top discount applies only to trucks with special chrome trim, a more sophisticated engine and other upgrades.

In hard to compensate for the missing commissions during the last month or two, Ford has developed a few hostile motivator deals on the latest half whole lot 16 foot moving truck, supplying potential customers in several service locations the ability to safeguard about usd10,000 in a 2015 Ford F150. However, discount giving has been started by the company already, as pointed out in a report by the Bloomberg.

It is even true that, in the right part of the country, with the right combination of options, one can “build” a pickup on Ford’s website that will have a discount that breaks $10,000. (A normal pace would be closer to 60 days.) And prices are very strong, even with the incentives: Ford says that the average transaction price on a new F-150 is $44,100.

The new F-150 has faced its share of challenges coming to market. That’s about $600 less than Ford was offering on the outgoing models a year ago. It also mentioned that Ford cut how much it spent per vehicle on marketing, but it didn’t include the fact that trucks are spending an average of 32 days on dealer lots, selling significantly faster than the competition.

The real development to watch is to see whether Ford moves out the incentives from being regional to nationwide.

As I said, discounts are just part of the truck business. Some discounts definitely are specific to the F-150 pickup truck, even though the company is of the view that the discount level is pretty modest, as compared to the standards of the big pickups’ discounts.

Improving inventory of F-150 is letting Ford offer more competitive incentives as part of its Summer Sales Event promotion.
