Ford posts 22% sales gain in China in August
Asia Pacific has proven to be quite the sales driver for Ford as the company has recorded over one million sales in the region this year.

Also, Ford saw best ever sales for the month of August as the company registered 22 percent sales growth compared to past year including specific markets such as Asia Pacific. The carmaker’s market share in Asia Pacific also rose to 4.1%, which also marks the milestone of reporting the highest share ever for any single month. Moreover, the SUVs alone accounted for company’s 30 percent vehicle sales for this year.
In China, Australia, India and South Korea, Ford Mustang has been sensational, while the Ranger pickup has thrived well, generating solid sales trend in Asia Pacific and more specifically in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan.
“We continue to build momentum in China on the strength of the most comprehensive and exciting Ford lineup we have ever offered Chinese customers”, said Peter Fleet, Ford Asia Pacific vice president of marketing, sales and service. “Even with intense competition and challenging business conditions, Ford continues to grow and reach new customers in Asia Pacific”.
Ford’s growing SUV lineup sales are up 17 percent YTD over the same period a year ago. New Kuga with SYNC 3 is launching in China. We even saw the introduction of the Mustang sports auto in countries like India, China and Australia. Sales growth is foreseen in the region through 2016 and 2017. Ranger and Transit sales in Vietnam are strong. More specific examples of Ford’s improved brand awareness in Asia-Pacific follow below.
In Thailand, market share for the Ford Ranger in the pick-up market hit 10% for the first time.
