Ford Unveils New Super Duty With Aluminum Body
With this year marking the debut of the fourth-generation 2017 Super Duty, the relationship between the fair and Ford seems to be getting even stronger. In any case, sales of the F-Series trucks have since been rising.

Other firsts for the F-Series Super Duty include a factory-available trailer camera that can be attached to a trailer for enhanced visibility while backing up.
The new Super Duty also offers an assist feature that automatically steers the truck so that a trailer will go where the driver wants it to go.
So, what does this new iteration brings to the table?
Like the new Ford F-150, the 2017 Ford Super Duty pickup truck’s skin, cab and bed are made of aluminum. And you know how the US vehicle makers like to infuse the cool factor with the bucketload in their products, right? And I mean packed.
All three Super Duty cabs are longer and feature a new interior design, including a dual-compartment glove box and overhead console-mounted auxiliary switches to operate aftermarket equipment. A 360-degree camera system uses four digital, high-definition cameras to give the driver a bird’s-eye view surrounding Super Duty. Looks pretty good. But they’ll never be able to pull the same light-alloy trick with their Super Duty trucks. It makes the truck easier to maneuver at slow speeds and keep it more straight at high speeds.
It still comes in five trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. Ford also fits 4WD versions with heavier duty driveline, axels, and towing hardware than ever. The materials help shave up to 350 pounds off the vehicles’ weight, making them more nimble and fuel efficient and increasing towing capacity.
Customers will benefit from a segment-first, in-cab trailer tire pressure monitoring system from the comfort of the cab while stopped or on the highway. It will be built at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant.
Currently, the Ford Super Duty line, which includes the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550, makes up about 43% of heavy-duty pickups sold in America.
A 6.2-liter gas V8 is available as well and is paired with Ford’s new TorqShift-G transmission on the F-250.
Though rival General Motors has tried to portray aluminum as flimsy and expensive to fix, Ford says F-150 customers have reacted positively to the change. The company says this new one is 24 times stiffer than the old frame; that should provide a robust platform for the suspension.
Remote tailgate lock and release:Tailgate can be locked/unlocked and opened with the key fob, eliminating manual locking and increasing convenience and security.

Using the same basic platform and cab for 17 years, the Super Duty has been refined and improved to ensure it remained relevant in hotly contested truck space.
