Forecast: Watch out for rain on Saturday

Welcome back to school, when today’s high temperature will be near 86 degrees, according to a hot National Weather Service forecast.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy skies will continue with a seasonably warm high temperature of 81 degrees.

The chance of precipitation is 80 percent Saturday night – and it doesn’t get much better for Sunday.

Tonight A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5am. It’s a bit more comfortable out there by the pre-dawn hours, with humidity on the decline and lows in the 60s.

Areas in and below recently burned areas would be particularly susceptible to heavy run off and debris flows should strong thunderstorms develop nearby. Rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tomorrow: Showers and storms likely.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers.

A cool front slowly moves in today and brings the threat of rain and thunder on and off throughout the day.

Moisture returns Tuesday and Wednesday with an increasing rain chance. Overnight, showers are expected with a low around 55.

Storm Team 12 Meteorologist Merril Teller says the dry and comfortable temperatures will stick around through the weekend. Cloudy with a low around 54. Winds: North 3-15 miles per hour.

Tonight: Mostly clear; Cool. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76 degrees.
