The woman in the CD is said to have told police that Kumar raped her about a year ago after giving her a soft drink laced with sedatives.

“The woman has filed a complaint at Sultanpuri police station and Sandeep Kumar has been booked for rape, amongst other charges”, said deputy Commissioner of Police Vikramjit Singh.

Kejriwal’s remarks came after reports that the woman being shown in the video has allegedly lodged a complaint against Kumar.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that Kumar should be given exemplary punishment if the allegations turn out to be true.
“I met him for the first time because I wanted my ration card to be made”.
The woman was approached by an NGO to lodge a rape complaint with the police after the video was revealed in public. Kumar was the former Social Welfare and Women and Child Development Minister.
Mr Kumar was presented in Tis Hazari courts complex on Monday before Special Judge Poonam Chaudhary who remanded him to three-day police custody during in-camera proceedings. One of the women featured in the leaked sex tape has claimed that she was actually drugged and raped by Kumar.
AAP spokesperson Ashutosh partly defended Kumar, saying the video showed consensual sex between adults but said a public figure can not enjoy “many discretions” unlike an ordinary citizen.
The woman had reportedly gone to meet the minister for an issue related to her ration card.
The NCW Chairperson also said Ashutosh jumped the gun in terming the incident as an act among two consenting adults when a criminal investigation is underway.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he received an “objectionable” video of the married Mr Kumar and sacked him as a direct result of his behaviour. “No case has been registered so far”, said a senior police officer.
