Former Aggie quarterback Kyle Allen to transfer to Houston

With one quarterback set to join Texas A&M another is reportedly on his way from College Station, Texas, to Houston.

Per NCAA transfer rules, Allen will have to sit out next season, but then he will have two years of eligibility. That would mean if Allen picked Ohio State, he may not start for three more years, assuming Barrett stays for his senior year.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Allen, who asked for his release from the Aggies last month, plans to transfer to the University of Houston. This past season, he was 160 of 283 for 2,210 yards with 17 TDs and 7 interceptions, which amounts to a quarterback rating of 137.

The news comes less than 24 hours after former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight announced he would be transferring to Texas A&M.

Allen came to Texas A&M as a five-star prospect but like former Aggies starter Kenny Hill, opted not to stick with the program.
