Former Apple CEO Unveils Two New Android Smartphones
There is yet another smartphone brand stepping into the market and it’s called Obi.

The two smartphones SF1 and SJ1.5 have been designed by renowned San Francisco-based product studio Ammunition.
The Obi Worldphone SF1 will reportedly cost $199, while offering unibody design with metal accents, in addition to the much-preferred curved side frames.
In the past month, a number of companies have introduced low-priced smartphones that target emerging markets as handset sales have begun to slow in the US, Western Europe, and other mature markets.
Obi Worldphone co-founder (and former Apple CEO) John Sculley and Ammunition design founder Robert Brunner made a decision to challenge that by creating mid-level, cheap global smartphones that look – if not cool – at least unique. These two have joined forces to bring new smartphones that feature all the best of Silicon Valley from design to technology to the standards in manufacturing. “Our efficient cost structure and broad distribution combine to present empowering tools that help our customers achieve their aspirations”. It became clear that it wasn’t going to work, so we pulled back. “We had to have design differentiation”. The raised display is aimed at emphasizing the interplay of the hardware with the user interface, Obi said.
Both models comes with MediTek and Qualcomm processors, Corning Gorilla glass, 5-inch screen, basically the lot which makes the phone affordable.
Obi will offer a model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and a higher-priced model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Android Lollipop, sports a 13-megapixel camera, and promises quick-charge technology that can juice up a phone in less than three hours. It comes in different colors and is angled at the top but curves gracefully at the bottom.
The screen is made from 2.5D curved glass built flush with the body of the phone. There is a 5MP secondary front camera with LED flash onboard.

Some of the other feature are dual SIM slots, 16 GB of internal storage, card slot for memory expansion, Android Lollipop. The Obi Worldphone SF1 and Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 are both set to go on sale in countries that include India, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. Obi Worldphone will sell the SF1 at $200 for 16GB or $250 for 32GB. The rear camera shoots 8-megapixel images while the front snapper manages 5-megapixel shots. Both phones will come with a number of pre-installed apps, including AVG Anti-virus, Swiftkey, AccuWeather, Clean Master and ColorNote.
