Former Colts WR Reggie Wayne taking physical with Patriots
The 36-year-old former Indianapolis Colts’ receiver went through triceps and knee surgery this offseason, and went in for a physical training with the New England Patriots over the weekend. New England needs some healthy bodies and it will be interesting to see how much time Wayne will get in the preseason game on Friday against Carolina.

Wide receiver Reggie Wayne is wrapping up his first week as a member of the Patriots and it’s been full of new things. I just assumed he’d hang them up at this point as he’s just not the same player anymore.
“Like a rookie”, Wayne said, per the Boston Herald.
If Wayne can’t find his niche in the Patriots offense, he wouldn’t be the first – but just a few days into his developing chemistry with Tom Brady and learning one of the league’s most notoriously complicated playbooks, the jury is still out. “I feel like a rookie all over again”. Even though Wayne only played in seven games that season, his production dropped as he only caught two touchdowns.
Fast forward four months, and Harper now has a legitimate shot at making the New England Patriots’ 53-man roster after being signed by the Patriots in May as an undrafted free agent.
“If that’s what he said about me, I’m on the other side saying he’s one of the best to ever do it in the coaching form”, Wayne said.
Wayne, known for his No. 87 in Indy, comes to a team that already has a pretty good No. 87 – tight end Rob Gronkowski. Wayne was one of Luck’s favorite targets his rookie year, hauling in 106 receptions for 1,355 yards.

The Green Bay Packers reportedly had been interested in possibly signing Wayne to replace recently injured Jordy Nelson, but Wayne decided to sign with the Patriots instead, according to reports from ESPN.
