Former Denver Mayor, other leaders call Trump comments about federal judge ‘racist’

Hopefully, you’re sitting down this one, but U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump wants to do things a little differently at the Republican National Convention.

Trump’s comments drew sharp criticism from Republican leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Having trailed Clinton, 68, for most of the year, Trump briefly erased a double-digit gap and pulled about even with the former secretary of state.

“To say that because of someone’s heritage or their ethnicity that they are unable to provide fair judgement is just wrong”. In other words, would Trump have to go out in the middle of Fifth Avenue and start shooting people?

She made her comments on the same day that Ohio Gov. John Kasich, appearing on Fox News, acknowledged that it’s possible that he will go to Cleveland next month and not endorse Trump for president.

“And if Donald Trump pulls over a makeover in the next four to five weeks, great, they can keep him”, he said.

Trump has been under fire from both Democrats and Republicans over his recent comments criticizing a federal judge overseeing a lawsuit against Trump University. In a Tuesday late-afternoon statement, Trump took a step back from the attacks but did not apologize.

Trump said the Republican Party and the nation’s leaders have to get down to business.

Donald Trump has registered his disdain for an effort to let felons in Virginia cast ballots in the November election.

“We are in a new age of economic populism and that rules supreme”, he said.

Trump has said previously he would like a vice president who has connections and experience passing legislation in Congress, implying he may lean toward a senator rather than a sitting or former governor.

‘The Republican party has to be tough and smart, ‘ he said.

“The Clintons have turned the politics of personal enrichment into an art form for themselves”, Trump said during a blistering speech on Wednesday.

He said he’s “very torn” about the birthday, but added: ‘I feel like I’m 35. We have issues with people who want to destroy us, we have educational issues, you know 71 percent of people between the ages of 17 and 24 who apply to the military are rejected principally for educational reasons.
