Former Doctor Who star Tom Baker lands Star Wars role
The Doctor Who star has let slip that he has a role in an upcoming Star Wars project. Director J.J. Abrams had previously confirmed that the villain Kylo Ren had received his name after joining this group, but did not give more details about it. The pair will be featured in a playset that will serve as the only way for fans to interactively experience the plot from the hugely anticipated new film.

Star Wars has a huge enough following that this is a very logical move in response to rival theme park the Universal Studios (also in Orlando and Los Angeles) announcement that huge The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will open up at both locations.
During a presentation to a packed house of industry insiders and Star Wars fans at the event, Disney president Bob Iger, said: “I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the next 60 years of parks and resorts than with Star Wars Land“. A signature attraction will be Han Solo’s starship freighter, the Millennium Falcon, which fans will be able to fly in and also reportedly take control.
It seems that Disney has a lot in store for “Star Wars” fanatics! This new 11-acre land will transport guests into the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard. During the panel at which the expansions were announced, it was hinted that the attractions will be filled with creatures going about their own business, wandering around for guests to encounter.
According to the Disney executive, the yet to be named “Star Wars” land will be “one of the last ports before wild space” and will feature stores and restaurants operated by “local inhabitants” to make the experience more realistic and “deeply immersive”. There’s no word on when Star Wars might be coming to Disney parks in Europe or Asia, but hopefully it’ll be soon.
More comprehensive brand integration into the parks has been expected since Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012.
The World of AVATAR is now under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
