Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb to serve 18 days in jail

McNabb, who was nabbed on June 28 with a blood alcohol level that was more than double the legal limit, will spend 18 days in county jail, TMZ Sports is reporting. He’ll be allowed to leave the jail during the day to work but return to serve time at night, according to the report.

On June 28th, McNabb was arrested in Gilbert after crashing into a vehicle stopped at a red light. He’ll also go through counseling and will be on unsupervised probation throughout the duration of the sentence.

This is not the first time McNabb has been sentenced to jail. Police found a bottle of tequila in his trunk. An officer questioned his breath, which smelled of alcohol, but McNabb’s defense for that was that he had taken cold medicine and cough drops.

He must report to prison by the end of November, meaning he could serve the duration of his confinement before the end of the year.

His attorney, Thomas Connelly, told Phoenix TV station KTVK on Friday that McNabb will serve 18 days in jail with work release and be under house arrest for the remainder of his 90-day sentence.

It is unclear if McNabb has present employment, considering Fox Sports and NBC Sports both removed him from analyst roles after the arrest.
