The LA Galaxy have signed former Premier League defender Ashley Cole.
The 35-year-old is the sixth-highest capped Englishman, with 107 appearances to his name.
Cole last played for Roma after joining in the summer of 2014 but his contract was terminated by mutual consent with a year left to run earlier this month.
Cole will also play alongside Republic of Ireland worldwide Robbie Keane at LA Galaxy and will come up against former Chelsea team-mate and New York City midfielder Frank Lampard.
“He can provide our defence with valuable experience”. I have a hard time believing that he won’t be one of the better left-backs in our league.
The club announced the signing, which had previously been rumoured, on their website and manager Bruce Arena praised Cole.

Cole ended eight hugely successful years with Chelsea in 2014 when he opted to join Roma but quickly found himself on the fringes of the first-team squad, and did not make a single appearance in 2015-16 prior to cancelling his contract. He won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, a league cup, the Europa League and most important of all, a Champions League title with Chelsea in 2011-12.
