Nancy Reagan fiercely protected her husband, Ronald Reagan.

Nancy Davis was a Hollywood actress during the 1940s and 1950s and married Reagan, a prominent film actor, in 1952.

She is often remembered for her “Just Say No” anti-drugs campaign during her White House years.

Grace, steel, and a political love story for the ages – California’s political leaders on the left and the right Sunday mourned the death of Nancy Reagan, the woman who redefined the role of the first lady.

Mr. Mulroney praised the value of the close relationship he had with President Reagan while serving as prime minister.

“She saw deliverance in her own struggle because ultimately she wanted to be reunited with Ron”.

“She stood by him through thick and through thin and fought to uphold his legacy even after he was gone”, remembered State Rep. for District 7 David Simpson.

Reagan raised the cap that covered his shaved head as he waved goodbye and Nancy lovingly tapped his head, reminding him to put it back on. “Her “just say no” campaign reached millions of students in the United States and overseas and made a difference in saving lives”, noted U.S. Sen. She was also famous for consulting an astrologer to create her husband’s schedule, a practice the White House acknowledged was related to concerns she had about his safety.

Nancy Reagan always was cognizant of the image of the office of the president, as well as the potential liabilities of her husband’s good nature, Bailey said.

Nancy Reagan celebrated her 94th birthday last July.

At the end of the night all five winners were given a photo of the president and first lady–a small memento, he says, for a big day that forever changed his life. You can’t overestimate how important she was for the Reagan revolution and Reagan’s eight years in the White House.

Nancy Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan presidential library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, who died in 2004.

Donald Trump, the front-runner for the Republican Party presidential nomination, described her on Twitter as “the wife of a truly great president” and “an incredible woman”.
