The former Florida quarterback made the kid’s day.

When Tebow walked through the door, Nathaniel’s reaction was just priceless, and he could hardly manage a word.

Nathaniel’s hospital bed was completely covered in merchandise from the University of Florida – Tebow’s alma mater – and he was even wearing the team’s t-shirt.

Nathaniel Nelson has been at Wolfson Children’s Hospital for about two months, undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukemia. Crews played 32 games in his NFL career with the Rams, Chargers and Redskins, while Tebow has also bounced around the league, most recently being cut by the Eagles.

Whether you would have cheered for Tebow or not on Sunday’s is irrelevant. And Nelson replied, “Wow”.

“Thank you for visiting me”. Nathaniel’s battle with cancer in Jacksonville was documented a few weeks ago by First Coast News. I was laughing inside. Tebow’s entire personality is pretty much built for these situations, so he of course handled the situation like a pro. “I didn’t think i would get to meet my hero”, said Nelson.

Meanwhile, Tim Tebow has received considerable press attention for his public displays of religious faith, both on and off the field. He throws the football like a potato grenade that fell in his foxhole.
