Former high school basketball standout gunned down
Mills planned to practice Monday at the high school gym to stay in shape for a shot at making an overseas team, North Lawndale basketball coach Lewis Thorpe told the Chicago Tribune.

Mills was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a senior at North Lawndale in 2009, he earned first-team all-state honors from the Tribune and led his team to a third-place finish in Chicago’s Class 3A.
Jonathan Mills, 26, had skills on the court that took him from North Lawndale Prep to Southern Mississippi. She’s trying to find out why this happened.
It was Mills’ two free throws in the final second that in 2012 sealed the 400th career coaching win for Larry Eustachy, who preceded Tyndall at Southern Miss. I am so shocked. I love you bro! “City-tough but a kindhearted kid”. Oh, I love that kid so much. Friends, family and coaches say Mills was a standout athlete in high school known for his basketball skills, and went on to play professionally.
