Analyses of previously leaked outlines of the repeal legislation have estimated that the average cost for exchange enrollees would go up by more than $1,700 a year.

In one crucial sense, the Affordable Care Act succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams: It changed the nature of the health care debate in this country. That’s the point I’m trying to make.

The Kaiser poll also found that 48 percent of Americans view the healthcare law favorably while 42 percent view it unfavorably, the highest level of support tracked by Kaiser since 2010.

Boehner kept the mantra going until he left Congress.
