In his post, he said, “After the great outpouring of overwhelming support, I’m proud to announce my candidacy for United States Senate”.

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke is running for the open Senate seat in Louisiana.
Villere pledges “the Republican Party of Louisiana will play an active role in opposing David Duke’s candidacy”.
But I think Trump, Donald Trump has made an newsworthy this year because, earlier this year, I think it was in February, Duke made some favorable comments about Trump and Trump was given an opportunity to disavow Duke and he did not do so. The seat is up for grabs after Republican Senator David Vitter decided against running after his failed gubernatorial bid.
He also weighed in on the Melania Trump plagiarism controversy, blaming the cribbed phrases on a “Jewish neocon speechwriter” at “a vicious corrupt lying Zio Media,” he wrote on his website.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) said it would not support Duke’s candidacy.
He even included a tribute to the NY style of Trump and Sanders, saying, “We must enforce anti-trust laws to break up the anti-American yuge media conglomerates [emphasis added]”. After losing the primary, Duke changed his party affiliation to Republican and was elected to the Louisiana State House where he served one term. “However, what makes me different is I also demand respect for the rights and heritage of European-Americans”.
As Jacob Sullum previously noted, Duke is the only presidential candidate (he ran back in 1992) to have higher unfavorable ratings than Trump.
The registration period for Louisiana’s November 8 election has ended.
Duke said that “European-Americans” need a politician to fight for their interests and that white people are threatened in the United States. He said, “I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people who cannot defend themselves.” the next day, Duke ended his own announcement by saying, “The time is now”. Duke, who ran to Russian Federation at the beginning of the century, denounced the USA government as a bunch of “traitorous bunch of cucks” while praising Russian Federation “as more free than us”.
Roger Villere, chairman of the Republican Party of Louisiana, quickly condemned Duke.
Duke’s announcement came as Louisiana’s capital grapples with racial tensions after the fatal July 5 shooting by police of a black man named Alton Sterling and the July 17 shooting deaths of three police officers by a black U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The Louisiana Senate seat is opening up due to the retirement of GOP Sen.

“There are a lot of strong conservative candidates in the race, but he remains a visible person with name recognition around the country”, Louisiana State University political-communication professor Martin Johnson said in an interview.
