Meanwhile Barcelona have signed former City prospect Denis Suarez on a four-year contract.

Barca signed Suarez from Manchester City in 2013, who had plucked the promising youngster from Spain.

The Catalans had inserted a buy-back clause into Suarez’ contract when he left the club, and have chose to activate said clause, which will cost the La Liga champions €3.25million, signing Suarez on a four-year contract.

FC Barcelona deposited €3.25M for the right to buy back the player.

Following a fine campaign for El Submarino Amarillo, Barca have now chose to bring him back from El Madrigal, with the 22-year-old agreeing a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old, who has never played for Barca’s first team but has been capped once by Spain’s senior side, now has a buy-out clause of €50 million. Pere Guardiola, Pep’s brother, acts as Suarez’s agent and could be crucial to convincing him to bring an end to the acclaimed MSN trio which netted 90 La Liga goals last season.

Patricia Perez published an article on Barcelona’s official website in June titled “Denis Suarez, two years of development”, chronicling the progress the midfielder has made first on loan at Sevilla before moving to Villarreal.
