Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow pursuing baseball career, reports say
Just hours after the reported news that the 2007 Heisman Trophy victor will try his hand at professional baseball, Tim Tebow has reportedly received an invitation to join the roster of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

All 30 Major League Baseball teams will be invited to Tebow’s workout at the end of the month, an event he has been preparing for over the past year. “Knowing Tim’s passion and desire, we won’t be surprised by anything he accomplishes”, Sexton continued.
Tebow last played competitive baseball more than a decade ago, hitting.494 as a junior for Nease High School in Florida. “With our proximity to Chicago and the fact that major league scouts come through our park on a regular basis, I think this is the flawless situation for Tim to showcase his skills in a game situation”.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Tim is cut out for the Major League? It was part of the reason the Broncos made the surprising decision to take him in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, and that didn’t work out so well for them. However, he hasn’t played full time since then. He’s been in training camps since but never again played in a regular season game.
“Am I intrigued? No”, Showalter said when asked about Tebow.
In an Associated Press interview published July 27, Tebow did not mention his baseball plans and would not answer whether he considers himself a retired football player.
Tebow hasn’t played baseball since high school, but at least one former MLB All-Star believes the 2007 Heisman Trophy victor has a legitimate shot.

Tebow, who turns 29 on Sunday, has been training in Scottsdale with former major league catcher Chad Moeller. I’d think he’s be a corner outfielder, but can he track a ball off the bat from 300 feet away? He earned all-state honors that year and led the team to the final four of the Florida state playoffs. From NFL star to ESPN broadcaster, Tebow has proved his incredible work ethic, and we’re sure he can make the Major League no problem.
