Former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg Rips Trump as ‘Dangerous Demagogue’
In a speech endorsing Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg condemned her Republican competitor, Donald Trump, as a “dangerous demagogue” and trashed Trump’s record as a businessman.

Bloomberg then lambasted Trump for his well-documented record of bankruptcies, thousands of lawsuits, angry stockholders and contractors who feel cheated and disillusioned customers who feel they’ve been ripped off. “I’m a New Yorker, and New Yorkers know a con when we see one”.
The New York City billionaire (that’s Bloomberg) gave Clinton her due on some issues, but his utter contempt for Trump was what ultimately came across in his ten-minute address.
On Wednesday, Bloomberg said the choice for him in this election has become crystal clear.
In the end, Bloomberg concluded that Trump was barking mad: “Let’s elect a sane, competent person”, he said.
Clinton on Trump: ‘A Man You Can Bait With a Tweet’In her remarks at the DNC on July 28,2016, Hillary Clinton called her opponent Donald Trump “a man you can bait with a tweet” and “not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”.
Bloomberg’s scathing speech seemed created to chafe Trump’s rawest nerves, mocking Trump’s business prowess, his inheritance from his late father, his ego and his intellect.
Bloomberg maintained this thread, criticizing Trump for saying he is a candidate who understands business. “God help us”, he said, prompting the crowd to jump to their feet. “Trump says he wants to run the nation like he runs his business”, Bloomberg said. While he had some zingers prepared, they were met with turned backs and chants of “You ruined New York City!”
While Bloomberg and Clinton are not particularly close, Bloomberg has made no secret he would like to see Trump lose the election.
His presence at the convention and endorsement of Clinton might serve to counteract some of Mr. Trump’s business acumen, as Bloomberg is a billionaire businessman himself.
Today, as an independent, an entrepreneur, and a former mayor, I believe we need a president who is a problem-solver, not a bomb-thrower. He wrote in March that the real estate mogul has run “the most divisive and demagogic presidential campaign I can remember, preying on people’s prejudices and fears”.
Bloomberg considered running for the presidency this year, just as he did in 2008.

“And I think, personally, I think he made a deal with Hillary where… he gets a job, ‘ Trump said in an interview that aired this morning on ABC’s ‘This Week” with George Stephanopoulos.
