The final chapter in Michael Vick’s career might have been written Sunday, and by the least likely of sources in Steelers third-team quarterback Landry Jones.
Of course, Kinkhabwala’s tweet leaves the door slightly open for Vick to suit up on Sunday, but considering Jones outperformed Vick on the way to a victory, it’d be surprising if he dressed in anything more than an emergency role. Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to practice more this week and could try to come back for the Steelers’ road game at Kansas City next week, but if he doesn’t the Steelers have a viable option in Jones.
But after Landry Jones relieved an injured Michael Vick last Sunday and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 25-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, that is exactly what has probably taken place.
