The former New England Patriots nose tackle Ron Brace has died at the age of 29, police have confirmed.
Brace was on the Patriots team that advanced to Super Bowl XLVI at the end of the 2011 season.
His former teammate and now-BC coach Al Washington along with former teammate AJ Brooks reacted to his death on social media.
Note: The video above is a report on Brace being drafted by the New England Patriots.
ROBERT E KLEIN/AP Despite a promising tenure at Boston College, Brace was hampered by injuries as an National Football League player. During his Patriots career, the Springfield native was always eager to volunteer and give back in our communities, especially when those community initiatives were held in Western Mass. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends, may they find strength and support in this darkest of all moments.

Brace was an All-State lineman at Burncoat High in Worcester, where he also competed in track and field and was a state champion in shot put. In December 2012, Brace left the Patriots and later signed with the Washington Redskins, for whom he never appeared in a game, though.
