Former President Jimmy Carter has operation in Atlanta

His spokeswoman says that procedure at Emory in Atlanta was “elective”.

Former President Jimmy Carter underwent surgery on Monday, during which he had what his staff is describing as a “small mass” removed from his liver.

The former President has experienced some health concerns before.

A spokesperson for Carter declined to provide additional details.

Carter, 90, was the nation’s 39th president.

He’s stayed productive for that middle recently by producing public looks and traveling including a May election statement trip to Guyana since he created a poor cold reduce brief. At the time, the center said only that Carter departed after “not feeling well”.

Carter has continued to make headlines on both domestic matters as well.

It said the procedure was done without issues, and that the prognosis was “excellent for a full recovery”. Since leaving office he’s created over 20 publications.
