Zidane insisted world record signing and Wales worldwide Gareth Bale will remain a key player for the club.

Zinedine Zidane has revealed his first message to the Real Madrid players after taking training on Tuesday.

Perez has received his share of criticism for keeping a short leash on managers – Zidane is the club’s 14th manager in 13 years – but Roberto Carlos said he may have finally found his man.

Manchester City boss Pellegrini was sacked by Real in 2010, despite them amassing 96 points in a solitary season under him – their highest La Liga total at that time.

“The players here won with [Jupp] Heynckes, with me and they are going to win things with Ancelotti”.

He added: “I’m sorry for Benitez, that he was not having the success that he expected, probably”. We’re going to do all we can to play as well as possible.

“We will try to have the ball and attack fast, this is how I understand football”.

“I want to communicate this as a coach, that the players enjoy themselves on the pitch, as they did for sure with Rafa Benitez”.

He wrote: “Does it get any better than this??”

Zidane will take charge of his first game as manager of Los Blancos against Deportivo at the weekend, and the 43-year-old has received backing from a surprising source this afternoon.

“I have motivation, hope and all that will help me and help everything to go well”. I do not think it is unfair on coaches.

Yet, his coaching experience is limited to a season-and-a-half in charge of Madrid’s feeder team Castilla, where he failed to secure promotion from Spanish soccer’s third tier last season.

“There were some important differences with the president but it is not unusual when you see what happened in Real Madrid in the last five or six years”.

“I don’t wish him to be flawless, however, because I am a fan of Barcelona… but I wish him all the best”.
