The 29-year-old has failed to settle at Stamford Bridge since joining on loan from AS Monaco in the summer.
Former Chelsea manager Villas-Boas is keen on bringing Falcao to Russian Federation, claim the Telegraph, although it would involve a lot of paperwork to bring the ex-Porto hitman to the club.
Villas-Boas ended up playing a significant part in Chelsea history, being a catalyst for the club’s first Champions League trophy with his sacking at mid-season; meanwhile, Hulk and Falcao were heavily linked with Chelsea throughout the years until we landed the latter in the last transfer window.
The pair worked together at Porto, and Villas-Boas is said to be confident of getting the best out of the striker if he lands him on a half-season loan in January. A move to Zenit will mean reuniting with former teammate Hulk, with whom Falcao formed a formidable partnership.
The striker has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea as he just has one goal this season, after having a miserable season at Manchester United and is now the understudy to Diego Costa. But he has scored one Premier League goal for the club and has barely featured, while he has yet to be used in the Champions League campaign.

However, his time at Chelsea has turned sour as manager Jose Mourinho’s job comes under increasing threat following a poor start to the season.
