Former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle

During the hearing, Fogle got teary-eyed and apologized for his behavior, noting that he “became dependent on alcohol, pornography, and prostitutes”, and that he regrets “letting so many of you down”.

She could have sentenced him to up to 50 years in prison.

After former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle received a sentence of more than 15 years, a number of Hoosiers outside the courthouse reacted to 24-Hour News 8.

Judge Tanya Walton Pratt ruled: ‘The defendant was obsessed with child pornography and sex with minors’.

Federal prosecutors have copies of audio recordings a Florida woman said she made of Fogle talking about sexual encounters he had with children, and they said they took those recordings “into account” before charging Fogle. Taylor has agreed to plead guilty to child exploitation and child pornography charges and faces a December 10 plea hearing on those charges. His attorneys say this shows “both the genuine remorse he feels and his commitment” to helping his victims “move forward” with their lives.

The 38-year-old Fogle admitted paying for sex with girls as young as 16 and receiving child pornography produced by his charitable foundation’s former director. He also said he wishes he had sought treatment years ago.

A former spokesman for a popular sandwich shop will spend more than 15 years in prison.

Fogle paid $1.4 million to his 14 victims.

When Fogle lamented that his wife would have to raise their kids as a single mother, she interrupted and said, “You gave your wife $7 million”.

But something odd that was brought up during the closing arguments was that forensic psychiatrist John Bradford testified for the defense and said that it’s possible Jared’s dramatic weight loss lead him to pursue minors – um what?!

Fogle was arrested in July after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided his home and confiscated his computer and electronic equipment.

“Not a day will go by where I won’t think of (the victims.) I hope the restitution will help in their lives”, he said.

Defense attorneys sought a five year sentence. He pled guilty to the distribution and receipt of child pornography, as well as traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor. Fogle was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis, local media reported.

Hundreds of photos and videos of more explicit, commercial child pornography were also recovered from his computer, prosecutors said. Fogle had paid a girl, 17 at the time, for sex multiple times, and the victim said Fogle had sex with another girl, 16 years old at the time, on a separate occasion.
