Former Trump campaign aide reverses course
“It’s performance art – sometimes, for its own sake”.

In the light of Nunberg’s 180 flip, he said that the media treated him fairly, that he would comply with Mueller’s email inquisition, and even offered an apology to Sarah Huckabee Sanders who he completely trashed. Um, talking to you, I have smelled alcohol on your breath.
Indeed, Nunberg did little to suggest Monday that this wasn’t some Stone-orchestrated scene. Despite plenty of inconsistencies in his appearances, this was one point he kept coming back to.
“I’m going to cooperate with whatever they want”, Nunberg told CNN Tuesday in a phone interview. Roger did not do anything.
“I just wanted people to know my story”, he said. The attorneys pointed out that Nunberg, granted immunity by Mueller, can not take the fifth amendment and that no one possesses a right to ignore subpoenas without repercussions. Perhaps this was just performance art for performance art’s sake.
“Well, I have not had a drink”, Nunberg replied, adding that he had not taken anything else besides his antidepressant medication.
It’s unclear why Nunberg so quickly changed his mind. That tends to be the case when you’ve got jail time hanging over your head for ignoring a subpoena. “I think it’s 50-50 what Mueller will do”.
We all react to stress differently.
But apparently, Nunberg didn’t have enough self-awareness to stop.
Nunberg’s and Cohen’s travails undermine the Trump family’s narrative about the patriarch’s flawless radar for finding the best people. The campaign fired Nunberg in the summer of 2015, when Trump’s candidacy was still in its infancy. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law has lost influential White House allies.
He had several more interviews, with continued deterioration, all without ever speaking to any sort of legal counsel, so far as we know.
‘The Russians had no impact on our votes whatsoever, but certainly there was meddling and probably there was meddling from other countries and maybe other individuals, ‘ Trump said at a joint news conference with Swedish Prime Minister Stephan Löfven. “I’m a little anxious about me”, he said. “He’s getting indicted. At least Jared [Kushner], maybe Trump”, he said, declining to elaborate on what charges he thought either might face. Nunberg asked CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Despite his sour feelings toward Trump, Nunberg told Tur he believes the president defeated Hillary Clinton on his own merit. In fact, he was interviewed on MSNBC and noted the team’s professionalism and directness.
Reached for comment, Roger Stone moved swiftly to distance himself from Nunberg, telling The Wrap that his former colleague “speaks only for himself”.

By giving an afternoon of airtime to someone whose credibility – and stability, for that matter – is highly questionable, the “news” becomes very much akin to a Trump reality TV show. “He went dark”, one of the sources said.
