Former UFC champ to host ‘Saturday Night Live’

As far as Rousey is concerned, White promises that she will return to the Octagon soon but gave no exact date for her next bout.

Whatever the reason may be for White’s change of plans for Holm, fans will have to wait a little longer to witness one of the most anticipated rematches in MMA history.

While the attention here mostly lies in the fact that Holm will defend her title for the first time against someone other than Rousey, it’s important to take note of White’s full statement.

Meanwhile, White confirmed that Rousey will be back in action this year, but stopped short of narrowing down when the 28-year-old could possibly make her comeback, despite reports of a comeback in July.

According to Cagewriter, the UFC tried to talk Holm out of an interim fight, but she wouldn’t budge.

Well, during the latest “UFC Tonight” White was also asked about Rousey, and her future with the UFC. After all, it had been presumed that Tate, having notched an impressive win over Jessica Eye, would meet Rousey at UFC 193, only for Holm to be given that plum spot.

While the president had thought of scheduling a rematch between Holm and Rousey at UFC 200 in July, no confirmation has been made yet.

Another question that comes up is who would Rousey face if Holm wasn’t available to fight?

UFC superstar Ronda Rousey will host NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in NY on January 23, the network announced Tuesday. She has appeared in the Hollywood films Expendables 3, Furious 7 and Entourage. Tate has won her last four fights and would be a great name to add to Holm’s combat sports resume.

The biggest risk, of course, is that Tate defeats Holm and takes her bantamweight crown, creating a mess for the UFC to sort out.
