“I appreciate the opportunity of serving the University as well as considering any other options that may present themselves in the future”, Richt said.
“I’ve actually had a relationship with Coach Richt since that season”, said Josh Mallard. Soon after, Georgia announced the news that Richt was out as coach.
While Maryland’s interest in Richt represents the latest twist in the school’s coaching search, it remains unclear if the two sides will meet to discuss the opening further.

He hasn’t won a Southeastern Conference title since 2005 but has been revered as a quality face of the program, which led to Sunday being a “most difficult” day for McGarity.
