After selflessly putting himself in harm’s way to help a person in distress, Harrell’s legend at Louisville will only continue to grow, and he has likely endeared himself to Rockets fans already.

Houston Rockets rookie forward Montrezl Harrell helped save a woman’s life after she was involved in a auto accident over the weekend.

In the National Basketball Association summer league, Harrell averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds over four games with the Rockets, and when they chose not to re-sign Chuck Hayes, it was believed to be a move designed to make salary cap room for Harrell.

Harrell was back at Louisville for workouts last week when he came upon an overturned vehicle on campus Saturday night.

According to a Louisville spokesman, Harrell and others knocked out a window in the vehicle and ran to a nearby business for a fire extinguisher while waiting for emergency crews to arrive on the scene. Yahoo Sports first reported the progress on contract talks.
