Former UW chanceller Donna Shalala hospitalized
Donna Shalala, a former Cabinet secretary during the Bill Clinton presidency, and former president of the Univrsity of Miami is hospitalized in New York after suffering a stroke. She stayed there until just the past August, when she was tapped to fill the leadership post at the Clinton Foundation that was abruptly vacated by Eric Braverman in January.

In a statement, Clinton and his daughter, Chelsea, said “Initial reports are very encouraging”.
The 74-year-old is now seeking medical treatment in a New York hospital after falling ill Tuesday night at the Clinton Global Initiative, according to the New York Times.
Shalala joined the Clinton Foundation earlier this year, after she retired as president of the University of Miami.
An email from former Bill Clinton was sent out after Shalala was taken to the hospital. She previously served as the Secretary of Health and Human Services during the Clinton administration.
