Once the most feared offensive threat in football, Randy Moss seems to be giving serious thought to returning to the NFL.
“I actually have not lost the itch”, Moss said.
When discussing his love of the game and the passion he still has for it, Moss revealed that he had been working out and that a return was possible.
This is not the first time in the past week that Moss has been asked about a return to the NFL.
Replied Menefee: “That’s not a commitment that you’re gonna be here beside us the rest of the year”.
“Hey, I don’t know”. “The sky’s the limit for me, Curt”. He’s never gone by anyone else’s path, so you can’t rule it out, and you certainly can’t rule out one of the most naturally gifted pass catchers the NFL ever has seen being in football shape. “So we’ll simply have to attend and see”. He came back for the 2012 season and managed to produce a pedestrian 434 yards and three touchdowns for the San Francisco 49ers.
There are already many teams around the NFL with injury problems that could do worse than a future Hall of Famer as a third or fourth option, even if Moss’ prime is well in the rearview mirror. In those seasons, he put up 1,139 yards and 1,211 yards for a total of 16 touchdowns.
OK, so that’s not the same as a team reportedly calling Moss (which could have happened) and Moss not denying mutual interest.
Moss additionally was talked about final week as a attainable alternative in Carolina for injured receiver Kelvin Benjamin.
