Former WWE superstar CM Punk loses UFC debut in first round

Punk, 37, who left the WWE in 2014 and signed with the UFC despite no fighting background, was taken down immediately after the opening bell.

In the buildup to the fight, Gall had pledged to “destroy” Punk and the New Jersey fighter delivered on his promise, quickly taking down Punk on his back.

Meanwhile, Dana White, president of the mixed martial arts organisation, has hinted that Punk shouldn’t have his next fight in UFC. I know it sounds preachy and kinda weird for a guy that just got beat up, but (expletive) it. Maybe they’ll watch because they’re secretly hoping I get beat up.

“It’s amusing”, he said, “my sister just told me that he said I was stuttering when I was talking to him”. I don’t know, you know what I mean?

UFC 203 set the stage for CM Punk to make his MMA debut, but it turned out to be more of a laughing stock, as portrayed by the memes, than anything else. And that’s because Eddie Guerrero always told me “hey pick up the locker room”, “can you pick up the locker room before you go”?

‘I just like to take challenges. “I wasn’t surprised he got through those early chokes because I was only half committing, nearly playing a game with it in a way”. Punk addressed his performance and the loss, as well as what his wife, former WWE Superstar AJ Lee, told him after the fight. I’m just really, really hard on myself.

“I lost and it sucks. But I know I’m better than that”.

“I’m friends with CM Punk, it’s been his dream to fight in the UFC forever, he wanted to do it so I gave him the opportunity”. I love Cleveland. Cleveland’s the s***. Gall, who is a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, goes to 3-0 in his professional career.

Punk was bitterly disappointed with the result of his MMA debut but has vowed to carry on fighting. “This is the most fun I’ve ever had in my life”. Did you think CM Punk would lose that fight?
