Fort Worth Police release report on alleged assault by Johnny Manziel

Manziel, in an interview with TMZ Sports posted on its website Thursday, said of the allegations that he struck his ex-girlfriend: “It didn’t happen”. He also said he didn’t threaten her life or his own, “I’m completely stable. I’m safe and secure”.

WFAA in Dallas says… during the drive to her apartment, Colleen says she yelled at Johnny, “I hate you”. Her statements – detailed in police documents and provided to BuzzFeed News – prompted an investigation into Manziel, 23, as well as criticism and the threat of future termination from the Browns.

Fort Worth police determined no crime was committed in their jurisdiction.

Despite the claims, no formal charges will be filed against the athlete.

In the past several months, Manziel has been involved in two alleged altercations with Colleen Crowley, the first of which was reported in October of a year ago. “There is no criminal investigation here”.

“It is with deep regret that, after several emotional and very personal discussions with his family, his doctors, and my client himself, I have made the decision to terminate my professional relationship with Johnny Manziel”, Burkhardt said.

According to the police report Crowley alleges her and Manziel had been at the ZaZa hotel in Dallas earlier in the night “hanging out with friends”. She said Manziel insisted on driving her home to Fort Worth because he did not want her to drive intoxicated. He fled on foot.

Police said that the woman “became increasingly uncooperative”, declining to answer additional questions and refusing to let officers photograph her injuries. He then went outside and started “pacing”, she told police.

According to the report, officers then conducted a search which included a department helicopter in an attempt to locate Manziel.

The Browns did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News’ request for comment. “We’re not there yet”.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy victor, who entered the National Football League with a party-boy reputation, spent 73 days last winter in a Pennsylvania treatment center specializing in care for alcohol and drug dependency.

“We are aware of it and looking into it”, National Football League spokesman Greg Aiello said, per Cabot. “Our review is ongoing”.

Adding to Manziel’s seemingly never-ending downfall, the Browns released a statement earlier this week more or less cutting ties with the young quarterback.
