‘Fortnite Battle Royale’ Goes Live On iOS

In the App Store, Fortnite is marked as an “Invite Event”, which means you can download it to your device, but you’ll need an approved Epic Games account to get into the app. If you want to download this game, you’ll need to have fairly recent models of the iPhone and iPad; both needing to run iOS 11.

“Fortnite Battle Royale” is the completely free 100-player PvP mode in “Fortnite”, with building skills and destructible environments combined with intense PvP combat coming into play in one giant map.

Parker praised the game’s console-quality graphics, stating “the first thing I noticed was that the map looked pretty unbelievable from up high – there was plenty of detail, even if it was on a much smaller screen”.

If you don’t have a Fortnite account, you will be able to create one, either via Facebook log in or signing up directly.

Fortnite Battle Royale on iOS (and eventually on Android as well) will be identical to the game that millions of people have been playing on PC and consoles since past year. Also, the game will not work on every device.

The Invite event of this game was started a week ago and those who have signed up with their email IDs have started receiving the email regarding this game.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite on iOS and Android will be the same game that is available on other platforms, with the same gameplay, content, and weekly updates. Android users have to wait for a few more weeks to get this game for their Android devices. Don’t worry if you don’t get a code straight away, Epic will be releasing codes in batches to reduce the strain on its servers.

Device model will likely not limit the chosen players to the newest iOS devices, though. Once things have normalized we reckon players will have no problems getting into the game sans invite.

Fortnite will then ask you to choose the primary device you’ll be using to play the game.
