The game has been written as a Windows Universal Application, a platform that Microsoft had long touted as the killer feature for the Windows 10 platform, which allows the same app to be made compatible for the PC, phones as well as consoles.

Before we find out whatever the next Forza game is in June, Turn 10 Studios will be releasing a free Windows 10 game called Forza Motorsport 6: Apex to try and bring in new players to the franchise. We don’t know yet if Micorosoft and Turn 10 are working on Forza Motorsport 7, Forza Horizon 3, or something else entirely, but we do know it’ll make its debut at this year’s E3 Expo.

This game’s pending release is an interesting one thanks to its use of DirectX 12.

Designed for players who are new to the Forza franchise, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex delivers a curated experience, featuring authentic wheel-to-wheel action, unique automotive content and constant rewards.
