Fossil Q Founder Android Wear Smartwatch Launched

For the past year or so, the smartwatch revolution has belonged exclusively to tech companies, who are better at designing electronics than fashion wearables.

The Q Founder is one of just a few Google Android wear watches powered by an underclocked Intel Atom processor. But earlier this month, Tag Heuer finally released its first Android Wear smartwatch, and Fossil isn’t far behind. There are three watches in the lineup, chief among them being the Q Founder, the company’s flagship Android Wear wearable.

Connectivity comes in the form of Bluetooth 4.1 and it it compatible with both Android and iOS devices, it will work with Android 4.4 and above and iOS 8 and above with the iPhone 5 or later. Amenities include a selection of different watch faces to give your wearable an individualistic flair, as well as a Fossil original feature that borders a bit on the eccentric: the Q Curiosity, an app that prompts users to do something a little bit out-of-the-ordinary on the regular by presenting daily mini-challenges. The watch itself is stainless steel, and so is the strap. Despite sporting what appears to be a round dial, the screen employs the same “flat tire” design made infamous by the Motorola Moto 360. Fossil is a watch brand first, so it’s design will most likely be its biggest selling point.

Turns out that’s indeed the case, as Fossil has officially listed the Q Founder on its website for immediate availability.

A quick search for any Fossil stores that might have stock ready for pickup was fruitless, so if you want to get your wrist underneath a Q Founder, it looks like the safest bet is ordering online.
