The army said ‘Arabiya “was shot dead after opening fire on Israeli soldiers, wounding one”, at a junction in Hizma town, after the army invaded the town.

In the meantime, 20 Israelis were killed in a series of shooting and stabbing attacks carried out by Palestinians in Israel, east Jerusalem and the West Bank to protest increasing Israeli measures against al-Aqsa Mosque in east Jerusalem.
The suspected Palestinian attacker was shot dead at the scene of the incident, the IDF said in a statement.
The army said its forces fired at one man who entered its no-go zone close to the border fence but did not specify the type of fire.
“In response forces on site fired at the assailant”, it added.
At least 113 Palestinians have been killed since 1 October, many of them suspected of attacking Israelis.
It is unusual for Palestinian security agents to be implicated in such attacks.

Israeli forces have killed 98 Palestinians, of whom 59 were identified by Israel as assailants or caught on camera carrying out assaults, while most others were killed in clashes with police or the military. A Palestinian who works at a winery in Psagot (a Jewish settlement) said, “It is good working with Jews, and we have much better employment conditions here than in Ramallah [the de facto Palestinian capital]”.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that Barghouti died after he was shot in the neck and the arm.
Since mid-September, 19 people have been killed on the Israeli side in Palestinian stabbings, shootings and attacks in which cars or other vehicles are used to run down people or plow into groups of pedestrians.
The Israeli army summoned ‘Arabiya’s father and brother for interrogation in Ma’ale Adumim settlement, and held them for several hours, in an attempt to get them to reveal the location where the family took ‘Arabiya’s body. Earlier this month, Israel’s defense minister had said Jewish extremists were involved, but that there was not enough evidence to prosecute. The Israeli government and by extension most of Israel’s supporters in the USA don’t consider the West Bank and East Jerusalem to be occupied territory.
The Israeli army source told reporters that the army expects the current violence to continue for about two months.

The two-state solution envisions an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, with the boundaries negotiated in talks between the parties.
