Four charges of Second-Degree Murder for OSU Parade Crash Driver

Stillwater police Capt. Kyle Gibbs had no further comment Saturday prior to a news conference about the incident. Police are still awaiting the results of blood tests. She remembers only being removed from the Hyundai Elantra she was driving and being confused. “She is not an alcoholic that I’m aware of”, Chambers said, adding that he would pray for the families and friends of the victims. “People were flying 30 feet into the air like rag dolls”.

Emergency personnel and spectators respond after a vehicle crashed into a crowd of spectators during the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade, causing multiple injuries, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Stillwa…

Tony Coleman, who is defending Adacia Chambers, says there is no indication that she had been drinking or taking drugs before police say she drove into spectators at the Oklahoma State University parade on Saturday morning.

“We heard somebody scream, ‘Look out!.’ (He) plowed through a police motorcycle, and then a crowd of people”, Kapple said.

“I just saw something black coming at us”.

He said the night before the accident, Chambers was participating in a homecoming tradition called Walk Around, where Stillwater residents look at the decorations in different neighborhoods. 26 more people were injured, nine seriously.

“One woman was a crumpled mess on the road”. “She’s Cherokee Indian. And they are very well known and loved and respected in Oolagah, where they’re from”.

She had been attending Saturday’s parade with friends, Hargis said.

“America’s brightest orange.” The proud slogan of Oklahoma State University well describes the scene of the crowd lined up on a street, decked out in orange jerseys to fire their team on against the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Witness Anthony Wyatt thinks the driver did it on objective. “I jump out and say ‘no you’re going the wrong way stop stop!’ She floor boarded it”, he recalled. “I could see that wall of people”. One minute, McNitt was standing beside his stepfather, 54-year-old Leo Schmitz, near the end of the parade route. “The screaming… and a lot of chaos”.

Three of those people were pronounced dead at the scene and a two year old boy died later at a hospital from injuries.

Police also listed the names and ages of the 36 adults injured in the incident, and said the 11 injured children ranged in age from 1 to 13, but withheld their names.

Marvin Stone, 65, was a retired professor and researcher in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering.

“Marvin and Bonnie Stone were dedicated OSU employees who will be missed by their many OSU friends”, Mr. Hargis, the university president, said Sunday.

Nicolette Strauch, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering, was hurt in the fatality wreck that killed her 2-year-old son Nash Lucas.

Instead of seeing her first OSU football game, Madison had her first helicopter ride, to the hospital, her mother said.

Nikita Prabhakar Nakal, a 23-year-old student from India, was among four people killed in a crash at Oklahoma State University’s homecoming parade. She was at the parade with friends. But late Sunday, police said Chambers was also being held on four counts of second-degree murder. A handmade sign read “It’s always darkest before dawn”.
