Four bodies were found in the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in New York’s Adirondack Mountains, the New York State Police said on Saturday.

Police located the downed aircraft approximately one half mile northwest of the airport and troopers and investigators responded to the crash site and found the aircraft completely destroyed.
The identities of the dead have not been released.
Officers don’t know the crash’s cause, and also the kind of airplane wasn’t introduced. Franklin County Sheriff Kevin Mulverhill tells WPTZ-TV he doesn’t know whether the six-seat plane was taking off or landing when it crashed. The FAA said it was investigating; the NTSB didn’t immediately return a message.
First responders have secured the scene and were waiting for National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration officials to begin their investigation into the crash.

In March 2013, another small plane went down while approaching the Lake Placid Municipal Airport, but all three men aboard escaped with only minor cuts and bruises.
