Four killed in deadly crash involving Dallas Cowboys bus

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued a statement Monday on the accident in northwest Arizona that involved a team bus and took the lives of four in a van on Sunday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety told KTNV.com that the van was making an illegal turn onto us 93 when it collided with the bus.

The bus collided with a van in Arizona, leaving four van passengers dead while the bus passengers sustained only minor injuries.

Mehr didn’t say what led to the crash on U.S. Highway 93 in western Arizona.

The bus wasn’t carrying any Cowboys players.

The tour provided fans with opportunities for meet-and-greet sessions and a chance to get autographs from members of the Cowboys organization.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred about 30 miles north of the city of Kingman.

“It was the Cowboys bus and yes the driver and passengers are OK”, Rich Dalrymple, the Cowboys’ senior vice president of public relations and communications, confirmed to AZCentral.

The identities of the four people killed in the crash will later be released by authorities after next of kin have been notified.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash at 1:39 p.m. on U.S. Highway 93 and milepost 42, which is near Pierce Ferry Road. The event, which was supposed to feature the team mascot, was canceled, Cooper said. He didn’t know if any players were expected.

After the Las Vegas stop, the bus had been due to go on to Oxnard in California for the team’s training camp, AP reports. The crash shut down at least one lane of the highway that serves as the main route between Las Vegas and Phoenix.
