Authorities are calling it a mass casualty incident with 11 victims transported with a range of injuries from life-threatening to non-life-threatening, though they said those numbers could change.

Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire Department, said on Twitter that the accident is extremely critical with multiple fatalities and injuries.
Three were flown from the scene by helicopter, it said.
At least three vehicles, including a passenger van, were involved in a fatal crash in the 2100 block of Chillum Road in Hyattsville, Sunday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking comment Sunday evening. One was a pickup truck, and the other a 15-seat van.
A witness also told WTTG-TV that she heard the crash from her home, and when she ran out, she saw “just regular people running in and pulling people out of the van”.
One of the vehicles caught fire after the collision in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Montgomery County firefighters are assisting in the response.
