Eyewitnesses say it clipped a fence, flipped over and ploughed into parked cars at a nearby auction house.

Four people are dead after the plane they were in overshot the runway and burst into flames at Blackbushe Airport.

The A30, which backs on to the airport, has been closed following the incident and motorists have been asked by police to avoid the area.

Daphne Knowles, 70, who lives close to the airfield said the aircraft sounded to be in trouble as it came in to land. See more pictures…

In a statement, the airport said the Phenom 300 Jet crashed near the end of the runway while attempting to make a landing.

A spokesman for the Hampshire Fire Service said crews were notified at 3.10pm on Friday.

“At this stage we do not know anything other than that”.

“The scene was attended by Blackbushe Fire and Rescue within minutes, followed by Hampshire fire, police and ambulance units”.
