Four soldiers injured in Humvee flip on highway

They later tweeted that one woman and one man were in critical condition and one was in serious condition.

The crash may have been caused by a tire coming loose from the vehicle, WABC-TV reported.

A state Department of Transportation website that monitors traffic, 511nj.org, said the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. north of exit 8A.

NBC New York is reporting that at least six were hurt when a Humvee overturned as it was heading south near East Brunswick.

As many as five soldiers are in the hospital after a military vehicle overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike. As of 4:30 p.m. the southbound vehicle lanes and far left truck lane were open.

Comedian Tracy Morgan was seriously injured during an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7, 2014. Several tried to come to the aid of the injured before authorities arrived but could not lift the vehicle, described as a Humvee, off the victims. Michael Watsey, an eyewitness, tweeted that a tire “broke off” the truck.

The Turnpike is prone to accidents.

Residual traffic delays were reported on Route 535 and Route 32.
