Less than an hour later, officers attended an incident on Ladbroke Grove, after a double stabbing involving a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy who were taken to hospital.
It hasn’t been all fun and games though at this year’s festival after four people were stabbed and more than 100 people arrested on the first day.
Some people were arrested for more than one offence, and 26 knives were seized.
It is this historic event that is considered by many to be the true beginning of Notting Hill Carnival.
Shortly after police were called to reports of a stabbing on Portobello Road and a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital, where his condition is not life threatening.

Children in fancy dress and face paint claimed the best view of the parade by sitting on parents’ shoulders, and some even joined the dancers following the floats.
Officers understand that the massive canister, found on Queensway in Westminster, has the capacity to fill 2,250 small canisters.
The police said they have seized over 150 canisters of nitrous oxide rom Wormington Road, Kensington and Chelsea.
Even young boys took part, dancing with girls twice their age.

Scotland Yard said that as of 7pm on Monday there were 160 arrests during the day.
