Four storylines in Bears-Broncos game
Even with Manning reduced to a spectator, there will be no lack of motivation on the opposing sideline.

Former Broncos coach John Fox with cornerbacks Bradley Roby and Chris Harris late last season. He’s going to keep us calm, let us know the situation. This week the Bears look to climb back to.500, as they host the AFC’s Denver Broncos.
After the Denver Broncos did the unthinkable in benching Peyton Manning last Sunday, Brock Osweiler is now getting ready to make his first career start against the Chicago Bears. A two-game losing streak could become four. DeMarcus Ware has already been ruled out for the Bears game with a back injury, and Emmanuel Sanders is questionable.
The Bears have shown improvement coming out of their bye, winning two out of three while surrendering an average of 18.3 points per game in those games.
Kubiak quickly announced after the game that he should have never started Manning at all and that he was not fully healthy. “I remember watching John (Elway) as a kid and Jake (Plummer) and the rest of those guys so certainly it is a dream come true”. And so even before he spent three and a half seasons sitting behind Peyton Manning, he seemed destined to wait behind a man named Steven Threet. No”, Kubiak said. “He wants to go and wants to do everything that he can for his football team.
For the Broncos’ big boys up front, most of the attention focused their way has been negative, due to a sporadic running game and porous pass protection.
Not only will Manning be inactive for Sunday’s game in Chicago against the Bears (Fox is now their coach, while Gase runs runs the offense), but he will not travel to the Windy City. “I could go give him all of the work, mentally, that he needs”. That marks the sixth game this season he has thrown more picks than scores.
Speaking of the Bears, I have heard that they are doing well in these past few weeks.
Four division leaders – New England, Arizona, Cincinnati, NY Giants – have QBs ranked in the top 12 in passer rating.
The prevailing notion is that Osweiler’s athleticism and mobility will allow the Broncos to run a more traditional Kubiak-style offense while Manning sits out and tries to get healthy. Fox and Gase both signed on with the Chicago Bears, who will take on the Broncos this week.
Kubiak told Manning on Monday that Brock Osweiler would start against the Bears on Sunday and that Manning would use the week to concentrate on getting treatment from the team’s medical staff for rib and left foot injuries. Manning’s status going forward is unknown right now. Among the offensive line, only center Matt Paradis and right tackle Michael Schofield played every snap.
Brock Osweiler has big showing against a poor Chicago secondary and helps the Broncos to a 35-23 victory that signals the start of a new era in Denver.
Denver Secondary vs. Chicago Tight Ends: We talked about Denver slowing down Jeffery and taking away the dump-off passes to running backs, but Chicago still has one of the league’s best tight ends in Martellus Bennett. “I don’t have the time to list all the ways I’ve improved”, he huffed, though I had only asked for one.
Pronounced (OSS-why-lur), Osweiler posted numbers last week that were close to what he had generated in three seasons previously behind Manning.

There should be plenty of interest surrounding Osweiler and his offense, but the Broncos will also have to worry about slowing down an offense that just put up 37 points and 397 yards against a solid St. Louis Rams defense. The Bears need to continue its progression in the pass rushing aspect of the game, last week they added 10 quarterback hits.
