Four Tigers earn All-America honors during Day 1 of NCAA Championships

Twenty one Ivy athletes will compete across 19 different individual events along with two relay teams from the women of Harvard. Givans also broke the school record during the semifinals a year ago with a time of 10.03.

Montgomery’s outdoor season might have began relatively quiet, but its end has brought him back into the national headlines as one of the top young 400 athletes in the world.

Alabama has two jumpers (one man, one woman) slated to compete in the meet.

Lawson a three-time national champion, while also holding the school record in the 100.

Both have had successful 2016 campaigns. “It shows this year with having two young ladies, first time in history going [to the NCAA Championships] in the 10,000 and hammer throw”.

De Grasse’s 100 meter win was a wind-aided time of 9.75 (+2.7) which is the fastest all-conditions in Conference history.

In her final season, Clark established the school and conference records in the outdoor women’s pole vault with a height of 15-2.50 (4.63m).

Also during the 2016 outdoor season, Gibson captured individual wins in the triple jump at the Jim Thorpe Invite and Pepsi Invitational in Eugene, Ore.

Allen won the 110 hurdles at the 2014 NCAA championships.

The Riverton native didn’t fare as well in the 400 this season, but is thrilled with the tradeoff. Merkley recorded the top mark of 209-11 at the UCLA Legends Invitational, while Grunder took the second spot on the list at the NCAA West Preliminary, where he recorded a mark of 204-10. Junior Quanesha Burks, the defending NCAA outdoor champion and the 2015 and 2016 SEC outdoor champion in the women’s long jump, will compete to defend her NCAA title.

“For the most part, I’m just concentrating on my race”, she said. Hammer throwers Sara Savatovic and Janee’ Kassanavoid enter the meet ranked sixth and 18th in Division I in the event. She is seeded 14th after earning an 11th-place finish at the East regional with a 43-½ inch mark.

McBride has never competed in the NCAAs but she finished second in the AAC outdoors and third in the indoors.

On the first day of the 2016 NCAA Track & Field Championships, the Georgetown track & field program had a solid performance highlighted by All-American Darren Fahy (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) advancing to the steeplechase finals for the second-consecutive year.

The 5,000 and 4×400 are set to be the final two men’s events of the meet, both on Friday. While they finished fourth in the heat, their time was the second-fastest non-automatic qualifying time and the 10th quickest overall. Sophomore Keiteyana Parks will also be ready to compete in the event for the Wildcats.
